Imphal, May 09 2026: While protecting forests is a noble cause, Thayong Village Authority Chief M Achung Kom has urged everyone concerned to avoid intruding in areas beyond their territory for such initiatives.

Speaking to the media during a press briefing at Thayong Community Hall today, M Achung Kom said the village has a dedicated Joint Forest Management Committee (JFMC) which works in alignment with the State Forest Department in planting fruit bearing trees.

Safeguarding forested areas is an admirable initiative, but one should desist from intruding in the territories of other villages in the name of such efforts.

Thus, he made a widespread appeal to all to avoid interfering in Thayong Village territory without prior approval from village authorities.
