IPM training programme held at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, January 09 2026:
A training programme on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) was successfully conducted at Bishnupur Mamang Leikai on Friday with the participation of 35 farmers.
The programme focused on the establishment of a Crop-Based Model IPM Village and aimed to promote eco-friendly and sustainable pest management practices.
The programme was organised by the College of Agriculture.
Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal and sponsored by the ICAR-National Research Institute for Integrated Pest Management (NRIPM), New Delhi.
In addition to the training session, a Plant Health Camp was also organised during the programme.
Farmers brought pest-and disease-affected crop samples for expert diagnosis.
Dr RK Padamini and Dr Pukham Bhumita served as resource persons and provided on-the-spot diagnosis, technical guidance, and sustainable management recommendations to the farmers.
Based on the identified plant protection problems, appropriate plant protection inputs were distributed to the farmers.
The programme received an encouraging response from farmers, who appreciated the practical solutions, and expert advice provided for effective pest and disease management.
