Shija Nursing Officer attends Smile Train workshop

Imphal, September 07 2026: Thokchom Renuka, Nursing Officer, Department of Pediatrics, Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd, participated in the Smile Train Basic Nutrition Workshop held from August 29 to 31 in New Delhi.

Shija Hospitals is the only Smile Train-partnered hospital in Manipur.

The workshop focused on nutritional care and feeding practices for children with cleft conditions, including breastfeeding challenges, counselling, complementary feeding and post-surgery diets, besides practical training in anthropometric assessment, growth monitoring and nutrition data management on STX platform.

The Smile Train Shija Cleft Project, launched in June 2006, has completed over 4,800 free cleft surgeries to date.
