Governor reviews NH projects

Imphal, May 05 2025:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday chaired a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan, here, to review the progress of national highway projects in the state and later met with the newly appointed chairman of Manipur Public Service Commission SS Chhabra.
According to a press release issued by the PRO Raj Bhavan, the Governor conducted a detailed review of the ongoing highway construction works at the conference hall of Raj Bha van.
National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) executive director MS Deval presented a comprehensive update on the status of various projects underway in different regions of the state.
He also outlined the major challenges impacting the pace of execution.
The Governor urged officials to address the obstacles immediately and implement all necessary measures to ensure timely completion of the projects.
The meeting was attended by the principal secretary (works), commissioner (home), secretary (land resource), PWD chief engineer, and DIG CRPF (operations) .
Deputy commissioners of Ukhrul, Noney, Tamenglong, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, and Pherzawl districts also joined the meeting via video conference.
In a separate press release, PRO Raj Bhavan informed that the newly appointed chairman of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), SS Chhabra, called on the Governor in the evening.
The meeting marked the chairman's formal introduction to the Governor following his appointment.
