Imphal, May 04 2025:
Shiv Sena Manipur State president M Tombi has stated that while May 3 symbolises a day of protecting the territorial integrity of the state for the Meetei community, for the Kukis, it serves as a means to disintegrate the state to forcefully take over the land.
In a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday, Tombi said that it is now two years since the conflict broke out on May 3.He then hoped for the day to give more strength to the indigenous people of the state, who have been living together in harmony since time immemorial, to continue protecting the state.
Referencing the Pahalgam attack, he stated that the terrorists did not touch women and children in the attack, but the Kuki narco-terrorists, who are adamant to take Manipur, did not hesitate in killing even babies.
However, the Indian government has yet to carry out any military crackdown on these terrorists, he remarked.
Stressing the need for the concerned stakeholders to abandon any thought of revenge and instead try to restore normalcy in the state while fiercely objecting all sinister agendas to balkanise Manipur, Tombi deplored that imposition of the President's Rule has failed to restore peace and normalcy in the state over the past three months.
He urged the central leaders and state's Governor and the chief secretary to stop playing divide and rule policy but accord importance to tackling Kuki terrorists, which would, in turn, ensure the elimination of the drug trade and safety of the country, state and students.
He then prayed for all those who have died in the conflict to rest in peace.
