Imphal, October 03 2025: The Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) has deeply condoled the sudden demise of Professor Akoijam Manihar Singh, retired Professor and former Head, Department of Chemistry and general secretary, MUTA .

According to a press release, he was also the former Dean of School of Sciences; member of the Academic Council, Senate, Syndicate, and Executive Council of MU and Vice-Chancellor (in-charge) of MU in 2003 .

In his passing, the University has lost a scholar of eminence and MUTA has lost a valued colleague and leader, said the statement.

Extending their solidarity to the bereaved family, MUTA also prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
