CAP: CRPF distributes sewing machines, CGI sheets

As part of their continued Civic Action Programme, 189 Bn CRPF handed over looms and sewing machines to Educated Unemployed Youths' Committee and The League of Callow Patriots during an event held today at the hall of State Kala Academy, Palace Compound.
Educated Unemployed Youths' Committee, Palace Gate received one loom and two sewing machines while three sewing machines were given to The League of Callow Patriots, Ningthem Pukhri Mapal.
The event was attended by Huidrom Premjit Meitei, DIG Range CRPF Imphal; Prasant Kumar Sahu, Commandant 189 Bn CRPF; Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Commandant, 68 Bn SSB and Officers and jawans of 189 Bn CRPF .
According to Huidrom Premjit Meitei, the CAP was organised to foster stronger relations between the people and security forces.
Each CRPF unit deployed in the State comprises 7 companies.
A sum of Rs 1 lakh is sanctioned for CAP for each company, he said.
Through such funds, the CRPF has distributed sewing machines, water storage containers, repaired local clubs and built waiting sheds.
The CAP was also organised to provide guidance to youths interested in joining the CRPF and help the public avoid the pitfalls of drug abuse, added Huidrom Premjit.
Separately, under its ongoing CAP, 69 Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri handed over CGI tin sheets to the Tangkhul Shanao Long, Imphal under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF.
As per a press release, SA Rojan Zimik, Commandant of 69 Bn CRPF, Mantripukhri emphasized the important role of women's society in shaping the social structure, adding that the battalion is pleased to contribute to their growth.
Padmashree Awardee Guru Rewben Mashangva graced the occasion as the guest of honour and entertained the audience with Tangkhul folk fusion songs.
