Imphal, October 31 2025: Asia Pacific Foundation, Manipur organised the book release ceremony of "Revisiting the Golden Era: A Lens Into Contemporary Manipur", compiled and edited by RK Gunikanta, at the Thangjing Hall of Manipur Press Club today.

The book release event was attended by Dr Arambam Noni, Associate Professor, DMU; Kshetri Tama, president, Road Side Vendor Welfare Association; Thokchom Sujata, president, Imagi Meira and Dr Sapam Dilip Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Law, Manipur University as the presidium members.

According to RK Gunikanta, who is also the convenor of Asia Pacific Foundation, Manipur, the book is a compilation of papers presented by scholars, activists etc during a seminar.

As such, it is a collective effort.

The book discusses the lessons that contemporary Manipuri society can learn from the historical period of 1947-1949 when Manipur was free from British rule, he said.

At the event, Dr Sapam DilipKumar also spoke at length about the book.
