Legal awareness programmes held across Kakching

Kakching, September 29 2025: The All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA), in collaboration with the Kakching District Bar Association (KDBA), conducted a series of legal awareness programmes across Kakching district from September27, 2025 .

The initiative, held under the Nation First@75 campaign, focused on spreading awareness about the POCSO Act, 2012, the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006, and Domestic Violence Act, 2005 .

The programmes were organised under the initiative of the Law & Legislative Affairs Department, Govt of Manipur, and were held at ANK English School, Langmeidong; Lamjao High School, Lamjao; Kakching Model High School, Kakching; and Thoujanbi VLF, Keirak.

Members of the AMBA and KDBA, served as the resource persons of the programme and delivered talks to students and participants, highlighting the importance of legal safeguards for protecting vulnerable sections of society.

It may be noted that AMBA has been conducting similar legal awareness programmes at 21 locations of the State as part of the campaign.
