AZSU-AMN declares stand against encroachment

All Zeliangrong Students' Union - Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU-AMN) has declared its firm opposition to any form of land encroachment in Zeliangrong-inhabited areas by foreign inhabitants.
The resolution was adopted during the Union's 5th Assembly held on May 27 at Peren village community hall, hosted by Peren Students' Union in collaboration with Zeliangrong Students' Union (Nagaland) .
The assembly was attended by over 100 delegates, federating units and senior Zeliangrong leaders from across the three states, reaffirming their unity and resolve to defend ancestral land and identity.
In a statement, AZSU-AMN informed that the assembly acknowledged a senior member's address on the ongoing political dialogue between the Government of India and the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), pledging unanimous support to achieve the community's political aspirations at the earliest.
The Assembly adopted several major resolutions during its deliberations including a unanimous stand against any form of land encroachment in Zeliangrong-inhabited areas by foreign inhabitants.
Calling the decision historic and resolute, the meet urged all Zeliangrong people across Assam, Manipur and Nagaland to unite and protect their ancestral land without compromise.
It declared a firm commitment to preserve their ancestral legacy "with all might", while urging citizens to prepare for any eventuality in defence of their heritage.
The assembly also barred any underground (UG) groups from establishing camps within Zeliangrong-inhabited areas without prior consultation and approval.
It warned that any such unauthorised presence would be viewed as a direct challenge to the community, and called upon Zeliangrong citizens to remain vigilant.
Emphasising peaceful yet firm measures, the assembly reaffirmed the community's rightful authority over its land and affairs.
The Assembly also discussed the upcoming AZSU Diamond Jubilee and ZSUM Platinum Jubilee celebrations, agreeing to hold them in a grand manner.
Deliberations were also held regarding AZSU's participation in the NSF Martyrs Trophy Tournament, with further discussions to follow.
