Lingjelthoibi Chanu accorded warm reception after winning two International awards

Moirang, July 28 2026: Takhellambam Lingjelthoibi Chanu, who bagged two international awards at the 2nd International Dance and Music Festival held as part of Kalinga Utsav 2026 in Cuttack, Odisha, was accorded a warm reception upon her arrival in Manipur on Tuesday.

The festival was held in Cuttack on July 25 and 26, where Lingjelthoibi received the International Sangeet Kalinga Rajmani Award for Manipuri Folk Dance and the International Sangeet Kalinga Rajmani Award for Manipuri Folk Song.

Hailing from Keinou in Bishnupur district, Lingjelthoibi is the daughter of Takhellambam Davidchandra Mangang and Takhellambam Ongbi Honaka Leima.

She had also received an international award in Solo Manipuri Folk Vocal Music at the International Dance and Music Festival held in Nepal on May 16 and 17.Her achievements have brought recognition to Manipuri folk dance and music at the international level.
