Lions Club extends aid to destitute home, promotes rainwater harvesting

Imphal, July 26 2026: Lions Club of Imphal organised a hunger alleviation project at Destitute Home for Boys, Tera Keithel, on Sunday.

As part of Lions International District 322D's service initiative, the club donated essential food items including rice, dal, edible oil, eggs, powdered milk, sugar, and biscuits worth about Rs 25,000 to the home.

Club president Th Nitish said hunger alleviation is one of Lions International's 8 focus areas, and the club will continue serving the community under the motto "We Serve".

Superintendent of the Home A Wanglen Meetei appreciated the assistance for the residents' welfare.

As part of the Central Government's 'Catch the Rain' campaign, the club also distributed pamphlets on rainwater harvesting.

Later, a 10,000-litre rainwater harvesting structure was inaugurated at the club's Service Centre, Sangaiprou.
