Imphal, May 26 2026: Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West remanded Sarangthem Tomba (46), an accused vehicle lifter to two days police custody today.

The accused hails from Yairipok Keisham Leikai.

He was produced before the Court by a team of City police station.

Sarangthem Tomba has been accused of stealing two mopeds parked inside the compound of the Treasury office, Imphal on February 9.He was arrested yesterday.

The prosecutor submitted to the Court that during preliminary interrogation, the accused has admitted to stealing the vehicles and handing one of the vehicles to one Md Nawaz of Sangaiyumpham on payment of Rs 3,000.The Court after hearing the submission of the prosecutor and on perusal of the case record sent the accused to 2 days police custody for further investigation.
