Timely response averts major blaze

A major fire at T Sejang Village in Churachandpur district was brought under control on Friday evening following a swift jointoperation by Assam Rifles and the local fire brigade.
According to a release issued by HQ IGAR(South), information about the blaze engulfing a residential house was received at around 7:15 PM .
Assam Rifles immediately deployed a rescue column and medical team.
The situation worsened after an LPG cylinder inside the house exploded, threatening nearby homes.
Working in coordination with civil authorities and the fire brigade, the rescue teams carried out firefighting operations and managed to contain the flames before they could spread to adjacent properties.
No injuries or casualties were reported.
Authorities said the quick response helped minimize property damage.
The exact cause of the fire is being investigated.
Locals lauded the prompt action, stating it reaffirmed Assam Rifles' role as a first responder in ensuring safety in Manipur.
