Youths of Heirok take out torch rally

Thoubal, May 24 2025: Youths of Heirok took out a torch rally yesterday night across the areas of Heirok Part I, II and III under Heirok PS in protest against various unwanted incidents which have transpired in the strife-torn State.

According to Ningthoujam Loyumba Mangang, convenor, Youths of Heirok, the torch rally was staged in protest against recent issues such as the harassment meted out to journalists of the State by personnel of 4th Mahar Regiment who instructed the scribes to conceal the word "Manipur" from the MST bus ferrying them.

Despite condemnations pouring in from different quarters, the Government has failed to initiate any action, he said.

They also denounced the incident where farmers were blocked from tilling their own paddy fields as Central Security Forces could not provide them with adequate security.

The rally goers asserted that it is time for the people to unite to save the Meitei community.

The rally witnessed a large turnout of youths from Heirok Part I, II and III .
