Imphal, March 24 2026:
Only self-governance can bring progress in Manipur.
Outsiders holding the reins and a "cowardly administration" are the reasons why the condition of the State continues to go downhill, said All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) vice president Naorem Wangamba.
He made the remark at the student body's academic campaign held at Pitambara School in connection with the month-long observation of 46th Realisation Month.
According to Wangamba, "outsiders" hold administrative power and direct the local legislators according to their whims.
As a result, the State has been transformed into a chaotic, leaderless Manipur.
Manipur has suffered due to the lack of true and sincere leaders for many years.
In the absence of a mass awakening, he cautioned those in power that Manipuri society may cease to exist in the future.
However, he assured that AMSU will continue working relentlessly for the people of Manipur to right the wrongs.
The event was also graced by Assistant Teacher Thingbaijam Umananda, AMSU members and
a number of students.
