Imphal, December 23 2025: Dr Lourembam Ibetombi Devi's book "Sagol Gi Khongthang Makhol" was released during a ceremony held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, Imphal on December 22 .

The book release ceremony was attended by renowned filmmaker and distinguished cultural personality Aribam Syam Sharma as the chief guest; K Radhakumar Singh, retd IAS as the guest of honour and Lourembam Manongba, retd Lieutenant Colonel and president of Manipur Equestrian Association as the functional president.

Addressing the gathering, Aribam Syam Sharma pushed for the protection of the Manipuri pony, the world's original Polo pony, whose numbers are dwindling day by day.

Just as the Sangai was brought back from the brink of extinction through dedicated conservation efforts, he called upon the public and Government authorities for similar efforts to save the Manipuri pony.
