Awareness programme on 'PM Surya Ghar Yojana' held in Thoubal

Thoubal, August 23 2025: The Lions Clubs of Thoubal, in collaboration with the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), organised a one-day awareness programme on "Prime Minister Surya Ghar Yojna (PM's programme for rooftop solar energy) at the Conference Hall of Thoubal Kshetri Sanglen.

The event was attended by Lions Clubs International District 322-D Region VII chairperson, Lion PMJF O Jogeshor Singh; Lions Club of Thoubal, president Lion K Michael and Past Region Chairperson Lion MJF, Joy Singh Oinam as presidium members.

During the programme, Junior Engineer Bungo Laishram as resource person spoke on the topic "Solar Energy as Viable Energy for Future".

The initiative aimed to spread awareness about renewable energy adoption and the benefits of rooftop solar power under the central government's scheme.
