Stop Diarrhoea Campaign stresses on timely treatment

Imphal, July 22 2025:
The State-level launching programme of the Stop Diarrhoea Campaign 2025 was organised by the Directorate of Health Services and State Health Society (NHM) Manipur at Hotel Imphal today.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director, Health Services said that diarrhoea continues to claim the lives of a large number of children, especially from impoverished families.
Saying that diarrhoea is dangerous for infants, he stressed on the importance of timely treatment to save precious lives.
Responding to a question from the press, Dr Chambo Gonmei said that the Directorate has been unable to release the NEET merit list for 2025 owing to some technical issues.
Assuring that the aforementioned issues will be resolved soon, he added that some other Indian states are also yet to release their NEET merit list.
During the event, officials presented a demonstration on how to prepare ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution).
Later, the same was administered to children.
The event was attended by Dr M Dinesh, State Mission Director, State Health Society (NHM) as the president and Dr N Hemantakumar, Director, Family Welfare Services as the guest of honour.
