Imphal, January 20 2026: Keirao AC MLA Lourembam Rameshwor officially inaugurated the Waithou Chiru Baptist Church in Imphal East district today.

The inaugural ceremony was organised by the Waithou Chiru Village Authority and kicked off with the offering of religious prayers.

Addressing the gathering, MLA L Rameshwor called upon all communities of the State to unite and work to wards restoring normalcy in Manipur.

During his tenure as MLA of Keirao AC, he has been successful in building nine churches and handing them over to the Christian community.

Saying that he sponsored a major chunk of the cost of building the Waithou Chiru Baptist Church, the MLA assured to carry out developmental works in the constituency for all people setting aside social divisions of any kind.

Meanwhile, SR Thoirisong, chairman, Waithou Chiru village thanked the MLA for realising the long-cherished dream of the villagers of having a proper church by funding more than Rs 50 lakh and supplying construction materials for the building.

Reverend James Thoitak, Pastor, Dollang Chiru Baptist Church; SD Victor, Pastor, Lamdangmei Baptist Church; Reverend SD Sekholet, Pastor, Waithou Chiru Baptist Church; Alar Thoitak, former ADC member of Dollang as well as village Chief and Church members were present at the inaugural event.
