Painting and Essay competitions held in Tamenglong to mark Wildlife Week

Tamenglong, September 19 2025: As part of the nationwide 71st Wildlife Week 2025 celebrations, the Tamenglong Forest Division today organised a Painting and Essay Writing Competitions at the Multipurpose Hall, Tamenglong Headquarters, and at Liangnah School, Tamei Headquarters.

The competitions were held under the theme "Living with Wildlife" and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various schools in Tamenglong and Tamei areas.

The event was conducted by Range Forest Officer Joel Gangmei along with staff of the Tamenglong Forest Division.

Prizes will be distributed on October 2, 2025, at Tamenglong Headquarters.

Organisers said the event seeks to highlight the importance of conserving flora and fauna and to educate the public on the need for continued wildlife conservation efforts.

Altogether 209 students from Tamenglong and Tamei participated in the competitions.
