Imphal, January 18 2026: A poetry book titled "Amashung Ei" written by Angom Surjit Meitei was released today in a function held at Manipur Hindi Parishad hall, Old Assembly Road, Imphal.

The book release function organised by the Thoubal Writers' Association was graced by dignitaries, including Nongmaithem Kirankumar, former Convenor, Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi; Okram Brajamohon Singh, vice president, Thoubal Writers' Association; and Sahitya Akademi Awardee Birendrajit Naorem as the chief guest, president & guest of honour respectively.

During the function, renowned poet & critic Devas Mairembam gave a brief introduction of the book.

Similarly, a poetry book titled "Phijanggi Marumda" written by Laishram Surchand was released today in a function held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.

The function, organised by the Cultural Forum Manipur, was graced by Prof Huirem Bihari, former Convenor, Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi; and Prof Koijam Shantibala, president, Cultural Forum Manipur as presidium members.

At the event, writer & columnist Konthoujam Ratho gave a brief review of the book.
