MIU named "Best University of Manipur" at Vijay Diwas event in New Delhi

Imphal, December 17 2025: Manipur International University (MIU) was named the "Best University of Manipur" at a grand Vijay Diwas celebration event held at the NDMC Convention Centre in New Delhi.

The university also received the prestigious "Pride of Nation Award 2025" during the ceremony on December 16, 2025, said a release.

The event was organised by Veterans India, an organisation of ex-servicemen, and was supported by apex bodies of Indian education, including the AIU, AICTE, NAAC, NBA, NETF, and EPSI.

MIU was selected from among over 1,000 universities across the country after a rigorous evaluation by a five-member jury headed by Justice P N Raveendran, former Judge of the Kerala High Court.

The selection was based on parameters such as nationbuilding, youth empowerment, community service, and valuebased education.

Receiving the award, MIU Chancellor Prof Dr Harikumar Pallathadka dedicated the honour to the people of Manipur, especially its students and faculty, acknowledging their resilience and commitment to education.

The ceremony was attended by several eminent dignitaries, including Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Prof Anil Sahasrabudhe (NAAC/NBA/NETF), Prof TG Sitharam (AICTE), and Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak (AIU).

Established under the Manipur International University Act, 2018, MIU is recognised by the UGC and aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, with a strong focus on research, innovation, and value-based education.
