Fish farming training programme kicks off at Kumbi

Imphal, July 14 2025:
A 10-day fish farming training programme commenced today at Kumbi Lai Sandong in Bishnupur district.
The training initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable fish farming practices, was organised by the All Manipur Fish Farmers' Association (AMUFFA) in collaboration with Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), Takyelpat under the initiative of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO).
The inaugural session of the training programme was attended by Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI), director Yumkhaibam Deban, AMUFFA president Mayengbam Bimolchand Luwang, AMUCO vice-principal Dr Norendro Thokchom, AMUCO assistant organisation, Th Santikumar as presidium members.
Speaking at the event, Mayengbam Bimolchand highlighted that the training programme is designed to empower farmers by enhancing their knowledge and skills in modem fish farming.
He emphasized the importance of adopting scientific methods to increase fish production, improve fish health, and prevent disease outbreaks.
He further assured that AMUFFA would continue supporting fish farmers in boosting their livelihoods and urged participants to fully utilize the skills learned during the programme.
The training programme was attended by around 35 fish farmers.
