Skill development training programme conducted

A skill development training programme was conducted at Pallel Garrison today with an aim to enhance employability and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youths, with special focus on the hospitality sector.
The skill development training programme was organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with REACHA and supported by the IIFL Foundation under its corporate social responsibility initiative, said a press release by the Assam Rifles.
Held in five batches, 246 young participants benefited from structured training aimed at equipping them with industry-relevant skills.
Batch I trained 46 candidates, with 20 securing employment, while Batch II prepared 50 candidates, of whom 32 were placed in reputed organisations including Trident Hotel, Bandra, W Hotel, Goa and Hotel Vijan Mahal, Jabalpur.
Batch III saw 25 of 50 trainees gain employment in establishments such as Le Meridien, Navi Mumbai, Sterling Holidays and Taj Vivanta, Bhubaneswar.
Batch IV, which included children of Ex-Servicemen, trained 50 youths, with 34 securing placements in Trident Hotels, Mumbai, Le Meridien, New Delhi, ITC Fortune, New Delhi and Bagicha Wilderness, Odisha.
Batch V comprised 50 trainees, including 23 women, broadening opportunities for both genders.
A certificate distribution ceremony marked the completion of Batch V, said the release.
