Imphal, April 11 2026: Thokchom Yaima, a dedicated stalwart of the Communist Party of India (CPI) for over five decades, passed away at 90.He breathed his last on Friday at his Kangmong Maisnam Leikai residence after a brief illness.

A CPI team, led by State & District In-charge Maisnam Joykumar Luwang and Konthoujam Local Council secretary Meihoubam Kishorchand, visited the veteran leader's residence to convey condolences and solidarity to the grieving family.

The CPI expressed deep sorrow, stating, "His long service and significant contributions to the people's cause will be deeply missed" .

The party noted that Th Yaima's passing marks a profound loss for the party and the community he served tirelessly.
