Thoubal, March 11 2026: A special outreach programme on the theme "Nari Shakti & Viksit Bharat@2027" was organised on Tuesday at the Women's Income Generation Centre (WIGC) Complex at Thoubal Wangmataba in Thoubal district.

The programme was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information Broadcasting Regional Office, Imphal.

Managing Director of the WIGC, Oinam Agusti Devi attended the programme as chief guest, while Wangmataba Meira Paibi secretary Thoudam Inaobi Devi; Field Office, Senapati, FPO, CBC Dr Waribam Urmila Devi; and Ministry of Information Broadcasting Regional Office Imphal, FEO, CBC, H Deepak Kumar Singh attended as presidium members.

Dr Yumnam Premananda Singh, HOD of the Dept of Law, Manipur University, who also served as Director of the Centre for Human Rights, participated as the resource person of the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, H Deepak Kumar Singh stated that women in Manipur are highly admired and cherished in society and encouraged them to continue playing a leading role in nation-building.

He stressed that as India moves towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, the contribution of Manipuri women will be crucial in shaping the future of the country.

Later, as part of the programme, a quiz competition was conducted and prizes were distributed to those who were able to answer correctly.

The event also featured cultural performances and a street play presented by the departmental troupes and PRTs.

The programme was also attended by several youths and women from different parts of Thoubal district.
