Dr Roshan warned, "E-waste, including mobiles, laptops, TVs, refrigerators, batteries, and chargers, contains harmful heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic that contaminate soil and water, leading to serious health issues".
He noted that e-waste contains valuable materials such as gold, silver, copper, and rare earth metals which can be extracted and reused if properly recycled- like household waste or plastics.
"Public awareness on e-waste dangers and disposal methods is currently lacking; we need collective efforts to educate everyone", Dr Roshan stressed.
The session featured a student quiz competition, with prizes awarded to winners, fostering interactive learning on sustainable practices.
