Imphal, October 10 2025: A 3-Day National Workshop on "Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection (MEPF) in Building Sector" began today at the auditorium of Govemment Poly-technic College, Takyel.

The workshop was organised by the Institution of Engineers (India), Manipur State Centre in association with the Town Planning Department, Manipur; and Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE).

The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Laishram Nabahcandra, Director.

Manipur Fire Service; Benju Nongthombam, Chief Town Planner, Town Planning Department, Manipur; Manoj Chakraborty, former president, ISHRAE; Likmabam Shamungou, Principal, Government Polytechnic College; L Swamikanta Singh, chairman, IEI, Manipur State Centre; Soibam Tampha Singh, chairman-elect, IEI, Manipur State Centre; Dr Subhaschandra Thokchom, honorary secretary, IEI, Manipur State Centre; and Thingom Subhonkumar Meitei, convenor of the workshop.

In the technical session, Dipak Barma' delivered a lecture on the topic "Basics of Air-conditioning with psychometrics" and Manoj Chakraborty gave a talk on "Glimpse of Industrial Ventilation and Contamination Control" .
