Bishnupur, April 05 2026: The Greater Bishnupur GP Level Multipurpose Co-Opt Society Ltd (GLMPCS Ltd) on Sunday organised a reception ceremony to honour its president Sorokhaibam Nilakamal Singh on being conferred the "Excellent Award" at the Mahatma Gandhi International Icon Award by Welred Foundation on March 24, 2026 .

According to a release issued by GPLMPCS Ltd, the felicitation programme was attended by president of United Writer's Forum Manipur, Bishnupur, Dr Ranjit Mangang; and Ward No 7 councillor Mutum Leima, along with members of the Board of Directors and the society.

Speaking on the occasion, secretary of the society N Pholin Singh, expressed happiness over the achievement of Nilakamal Singh, stating that the honour reflects his dedication and contributions.

He further noted that the society president has previously received two national-level awards, adding to his list of recognitions.
