Imphal, September 03 2025:
Candidates who appeared in the now cancelled 2019 recruitment of MSPCL and MSPDCL tried to meet ex-Chief Minister N Biren Singh at his residence at Luwangsangbam to submit a memorandum but failed to secure an appointment.
While the candidates attempted to reach the residence, they were stopped by security personnel.
After hours of waiting, they returned without meeting the ex-Chief Minister.
The 2019 recruitment was cancelled when they were waiting for the Government to declare the results of the examination, said the candidates, urging authorities concerned to understand their plight and take appropriate measures.
Notably, the 2019 recruitment for various posts in the MSPCL and MSPDCL was cancelled after a decision was taken by the Govemor-in-Council on August 14 .
While the recruitment has been cancelled, in its place, a fresh recruitment will be initiated through the Staff Selection Commission, authorities had said.
The authorities had also informed that all candidates who had applied and appeared in the earlier recruitment process (advertised in 2019) would be allowed to appear in the fresh examination free of cost, and they would be granted one-time age relaxation beyond the normal upper age limit, considering the delay and time lapse.
