Imphal, May 03 2026:
The Manipur University Teachers' Association (MUTA) has condemned the recent bomb threat, which was accompanied by a threatening message, as well as the twin bomb explosions that occurred within the Manipur University campus.
In a statement, MUTA urged the Government to conduct a prompt, impartial, and thorough investigation into the incidents and take appropriate legal action against those responsible.
The association also called on the Government to strengthen campus security by deploying trained personnel, installing modem surveillance systems, and establishing an effective emergency response mechanism.
MUTA demanded that responsibility be fixed and accountability ensured for any lapses in campus security, if revealed by the inquiry.
The association also appealed to the university authorities to clarify the allegations of corruption surrounding recent recruitment processes undertaken by the university.
MUTA called on all concerned parties to refrain from actions or statements that could create panic or disrupt the functioning of the university.
