Maharaj Kumar Hojaingamba honoured with Natya Ratan Award

Maharaj Kumar Hojaingamba Singh, a prominent figure in Manipuri theatre, has been conferred the prestigious Natya Ratan Award 2025, in recognition of his decades-long contribution to Indian and Manipuri theatre.
The honour was a tribute to his four decades of devotion/ discipline and mentorship, as well as his efforts to preserve classical traditions and shape generations of artists.
The award, which included a Rs 1 Lakh cash prize, was presented at the closing ceremony of the Natya Ratan Multilingual International Theater Festival 2025.The festival was held at Yashwant Natya Mandir in Mumbai from December 25 to 28, 2025, as a tribute to late Ratan Tata and his values, highlighting the power of storytelling and integrity in theatre.
Notably, Maharaj Kumar Hojaingamba is the son of Late Maharaja Budhachandra and Late Maharani Tondon Devi.
