Senapati, November 01 2025: The Mao Council Executive Committee has strongly condemned the "malicious and notorious" act of vandalism to the welcoming banner of Ato Kilonser Th Muivah displayed at Daili Village during the historic visit to his hometown and reception at Senapati.

As per a press release issued by the Publicity Cell of Mao Council, the perpetrators reportedly carried out the act of vandalism during the intervening midnight of October 29 and 30 .

The banners were erected to show solidarity and grand welcome to the Naga leader under the aegis of the United Naga Council.

Condemning the damage inflicted on the "showcase", the Mao Council said that this has not only damaged the congenial coexistence and relationship of communities but sowed seeds of hatred and detestation amongst neighbours.

It added that perpetrators behind this "outrageous crime" must apologize to the authorities so as to avert unwanted consequences.
