Irabot Memorial Month celebration begins

Imphal, September 01 2025: Lamyanba Irabot Ningshing Thouram Observation Committee (LINTOC) on Monday inaugurated the month-long memorial observation of Lamyanba Irabot at the office premises of Protection & Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM) near Wahengbam Leikai Lairembi, Imphal.

The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including PPCM convenor Pheiroijam Nando Luwang, LINTOC convenor L Shyam Khuman, co-convenors Kh Gopen Luwang, K Thoiba Meetei and Y Tiken Singh.

During the function, Pheiroijam Nando and L Shyam led the participants in offering floral tributes to Lamyanba Irabot.

Speakers highlighted that September is an important month in the history of Manipur as both the death and birth anniversaries of the Lamyanba fall in September.

They stated that the month-long memorial observation was organised with the aim to instill the principles of Lamyanba Irabot, a remarkable leader who strove selflessly for the upliftment of the working class and the needy among the masses especially the youths.

They also elaborated on the need for the present generation to acknowledge the vision and immense contributions of Lamyanba Irabot to the Manipuri society, and follow his footsteps in order to build an egalitarian and progressive society.

PPCM's former convenor Jitendra Ningombam was also present at the event.

Moreover, Lukram Leirak Youth Club (LLYC) also inaugurated the Irabot Memorial Month celebration at its premises in Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak, Imphal today.

The inaugural function was graced by Shaitya Akademi awardee Saratchand Thiyam and LLYC president Sushil Soibam as dignitaries.
