Seminar on "Transdisciplinary research with statistical applications" kicks off

A two-day national seminar on "Transdisciplinary research with statistical applications" began today at the conference hall of New PG Science Block, Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) .
The seminar was organised by the Department of Statistics, DMU in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), DMU.
The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Prof W Chandbabu Singh, Vice Chancellor, DMU; Prof Ksh Birbal Singh, Principal, DM College of Science; Dr N Roshini Kumar Singh, Joint Director, Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur; and Prof RK London Singh, Director, IQAC, DMU.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof N Sharat Singh, conenor of the Organising Committee, said that transdisciplinary research is gaining popularity as a method to address complex, real-world problems by integrating knowledge and perspectives from various disciplines and non-academic stakeholders.
"Transdisciplinary research goes beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries, involving stakeholders from various sectors to co-create knowledge and solutions.
This approach emphasizes the interconnectedness of science, society, and technology, and aims to produce not only research outputs but also actionable insights for addressing societal challenges", he added.
A souvenir was also released as part of the event.
