Imphal, July 28 2026: A 25-day Theatre Workshop organised by the Social Dramatic Union concluded today at its hall in Uripok.

The workshop was held under the CMAT scheme (financial year 2025-2026) of the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.

Speaking at the closing function, SDU president Saikhom Birendrakumar said that the workshop, which began on July 3, aimed to produce a new play titled "Ema Piyu".

Altogether, 30 artists including 20 men and 10 women participated in the workshop, he added.

During the workshop, resource persons and well-known personalities delivered lectures on different subjects.

Former Vice Chairman of the Board of Administrators, Imphal Municipal Council B Shanti Sharma, SDU vice president S Priyokanta, and former Principal of Government Dance College Ranjit Adhikarimayum attended the function as presidium members.
