ZUF calls for candlelight tribute on Haipou Jadonang Martyrdom Day

Imphal, August 27 2025: The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), Kamson faction, has appealed to all Zeliangrong people residing or settled across Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland to light a candle on the evening of August 29 in remembrance of Haipou Jadonang, marking his 94th Martyrdom Day.

In a statement issued today, the ZUF said the gesture would symbolize the community's collective gratitude and respect for Jadonang's unwavering dedication to their cause.

The outfits describe him as "a true son of the Zeliangrong community", whose life embodied resilience, justice, peace, and the rights of his people.

"In remembrance of his sacrifice, we invite all Zeliangrong and kindred individuals to light a candle on August 29 .

This simple act will symbolize our respect and recommitment to the ideals he stood for," the ZUF added.
