Imphal, May 26 2026: A fully decomposed body of an unidentified man was found at Moirangkampu Chingkhei Ching near Holen Dog Training Centre yesterday, said Porompat police.

While a case has been registered, the body has been picked up and deposited at JNIMS mortuary for further investigation and identification, said the police.

If the body is not claimed by 1 pm of May 29, it shall be disposed of as an unclaimed body after obtaining permission from the competent authority with due process of law and necessary formalities, said the police.

About the description of the body, police said the particulars could not be specified as the body was found decomposed.

He was found wearing a pair of black slippers, one cotton towel scrap, and a pair of blue and black long pants, said the police.
