Moirang, August 25 2025: Former rebel leader RK Meghen emphasized the importance of preserving Manipur's identity and rich culture and traditions as a vital defense against challenges that threaten the State's integrity.

He made the statement during the 47th foundation day celebration of Kwasiphai Youth Voluntary Organization (KYVO) held at Kwasiphai Mamang Ebudhou Nongda Lairen Pakhangba Community Hall under the theme "Manipur : Present Conflict and the Common People".

Addressing the function as chief guest, he continued that the foundation of Manipuri society is weakening, and as such, every Manipuri needs to work together to strengthen it.

He said that the role of elderly people and parents, especially mothers, is paramount in strengthening society.

Former Chief Secretary O Nabakishore, KYVO president M Dhaneshwor and social scientist Dr Dhanabir L also attended the programme among others.

The dignitaries felicitated meritorious Class X and Class XII students, medical students and athletes who won National medals from Kwasiphai.
