Two-day training programme on "Scientific Method ofLac Cultivation" begins

Imphal, November 24 2025: A two-day master trainer's training programme on "Scientific Method ofLac Cultivation" was kicked off at the conference hall of College of Agriculture, CAU Imphal.

The programme was organised by the AINP-Conservation of Lac Insect Genetic Resources, College of Agriculture, Iroisemba, Central Agricultural University Imphal.

Notable dignitaries present include Dr Lalita Mohon Gamayak, Director of Research, CAU, Imphal; Professor K Nandini Devi, Dean, College of Agriculture Iroisemba, CAU, Imphal; Professor Ph Ranjit Shanna, Director of Extension, and Education, CAU, Imphal and Professor K Mamocha Singh, Head (Entomology) COA, Iroisemba.

CAU, Imphal as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

35 individuals participated in the training programme today.

Professor Kh Ibohal Singh, Principal Investigator, AINP-CLIGR spoke at length about lac cultivation and its uses including coating pharmaceutical pills, filling jewellery, making dyes, cosmetics, bracelets, sealing wax etc .
