Faculty Development Programme commences

A 1-week Faculty Development Programme on "Augmenting Teaching Management Skills Using Innovative Technologies" officially began today at theCon-ference Hall of the College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The programme, running from February 23 to March 1, aims to enhance the competencies of faculty members in adopting innovative, technology-enabled teaching methods and academic management practices within higher agricultural education.
Altogether, 32 faculty members and scientists from various CAU campuses are taking part in the FDP to gain insights and enhance their skills.
The programme features 15 distinguished experts from premier national and international institutions, including North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology, Arunachal Pradesh; Indian Institute of Management, Shillong; National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur; Universitat Heidelberg, Germany; ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi; Tezpur University; Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and Kharagpur; Manipur University; SRM Institute of Science & Technology and SRMCAS, Chennai; ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad; WASSAN (Watershed Support Services & Activities Network), Hyderabad; MSCB University, Odisha; and DM College of Teacher Education (DMCTE), Manipur.
The week-long FDP includes expert lectures and hands-on training sessions on a diverse range of topics, such as machine learning and deep learning applications in agricultural education, blended learning models and learner-centric pedagogy, AI tools and generative AI applications in academic teaching and curriculum development, ICT integration in higher education, NEP 2020 and employability, Reference management tools, sensor-based technologies for natural resource monitoring, evaluation and rubric-based assessment strategies, and communication & soft skill development for educators.
