Significance of Manipuri language stressed

A one day National seminar on the topic "The Contribution of Manipuri Language to World Literature" to commemorate International Mother Language Day was observed at Radha Madhava Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Nambol yesterday.
Professor Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Chairwoman, Managing Committee, RMASM; Professor Sukanta Kumar Senapati, VC, SSS University, Gujarat; Professor Satyanarayan Acharya, NSU, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh attended the event.
The experts and resource persons lauded Manipuri culture, history and language, and stressed on the importance of Sanskrit and other mother languages of India reflected in the National Education Policy 2020 .
Dr Kh Geetarani Devi, Assistant Prof, Dept of Manipuri, GP Women's College, DM University chaired the first technical session which deliberated on the ways to forward the Manipuri language.
The seminar was attended by scholars and presenters from across India.
A total of 38 papers--in Manipuri, Sanskrit, Hindi and English--were presented and discussed.
Prof Sudeshna Bhattacharya, Chairman, Managing Committee; Prof Pralhad R Joshi, VC, KBVS University; Dr Buddheswar Sarangi, Principal, RMASM; and A Opendro Meitei, Co-Ordinator, IQAC, RMASM among others attended the sessions.
