MLA Surjakumar provides relief to flood affected families, urges Governor's intervention

Thoubal, September 19 2025: Khangabok AC MLA O Surjakumar today personally distributed essential relief materials to 280 flood-affected victims of Leishangthem Khong Khong Manung.

During the initiative, he stated that the sudden flood, caused by the breach of the Thoubal River, severely impacted several areas including Kshetri Leikai, Wangmataba Mathak Leikai, Wangmataba Doctor Maning, Awang Leikai, Thoubal Bazar Maya, Ningombam; Sabaltongba, Moijing, Leishangthem and Thoudam - particularly damaging various fish farms and paddy fields.

Highlighting the plight of farmers, Surjakumar appealed to the Governor of Manipur to instruct the Fishery and Agriculture Departments to assess the flood-affected farms and paddy fields and take necessary measures to assist the farmers.

He also praised the efforts of volunteers and local club members for their immense contribution during the flood crisis, acknowledging their crucial role in helping affected families.
