Over 4,100 litres of illicit liquor destroyed in Senapati

Senapati, July 17 2026:
The Senapati Excise Station, in the presence of Senapati Police, civil society representatives and media personnel, destroyed 4,125 litres of illicit country liquor on Friday.
According to official sources, the destroyed consignment had an estimated local market value of Rs 4.12 lakh.
The seized liquor had been handed over by the Senapati Police and the Excise Department following enforcement operations carried out between November 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026.The excisable articles were confiscated and destroyed under Section 69 of the Manipur Liquor Prohibition (MLP) Act, 1991, at the Senapati Excise Station as part of the department's continued efforts to curb the manufacture, possession and sale of illicit liquor in the district.
