Imphal, December 16 2025:
Plagued by poor infrastructure and staff shortage, the Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM) in Oksu, Lamlai Assembly Constituency, Imphal East district has little possibility of meeting the Central Government's health goals.
Accompanied by locals of the region, Achoibam Deben, member, Pradesh Congress Committee of Lamlai AC conducted an inspection of AAM, Oksu today.
Previously, it was known as Primary Health Sub-Centre (PHSC), which was then changed to Ayushman Arogya Health and Wellness Centre before finally becoming Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
After the inspection, he told media persons that though the tagline of "Arogya Paramam Dhanam" (Health is the greatest wealth) accompanied the change from PHSU to AAM, the situation on ground at Oksu is disappointing.
Highlighting poor infrastructure and lack of staff including nurses at AAM, Oksu, he pointed out that the complex also remains unfenced.
Instead of moving forward and reaching the goals set by the Government, AAM Oksu, which is of great importance to the locals in matters of health, might instead be inching backwards, said A Deben.
He urged the concerned authorities to address the shortcomings at AAM, Oksu swiftly and provide good health service to the villagers.
The PCC member also handed over a water storage tank for the Centre today.
