Imphal, June 16 2025: Kshetri Tama Devi, former Upadhakshya of Imphal East Zilla Parishad has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East District, to take necessary steps to provide compensation to the flood victims of last year.

In a letter addressed to the DC, Kshetri Tama pointed out that the floods of June/July, 2024, caused widespread destruction in many parts of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency.

Kshetri Tama mentioned that the people who suffered damages and economic losses on account of the widespread flood had already submitted necessary documents and applications to the SDO Porompat, but no compensation/relief package has been provided to help the victims till date.

Highlighting that she has received several complaints from the flood victims, Kshetri Tama urged the DC to look into the matter and take necessary steps to address the grievances of the flood victims.
