Assam Rifles to host inaugural 'Manipur Border Trail Run 1.0' under Op Sadbhavana

Assam Rifles, in its continued endeavour to strengthen civil-military cooperation and foster youth engagement in border areas, will organise the inaugural "Manipur Border Trail Run 1.0" on January 20, 2026 at the Chakpikarong Football Ground in Chandel District under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana.
As per a release issued by the IGAR (South), the event seeks to inspire fitness, discipline, resilience, unity and national integration among the youth and local population residing in remote border regions of Manipur.
The trail run will be conducted across challenging hilly terrain, offering participants an enriching experience amidst the scenic landscape.
Three distinct runs have been designed to cater to diverse age groups and fitness levels.
The Tuiyang Grizzly Grind (14 km) and the Tuiyang Deer Dash (8 km) will be open to men and women in both open and senior categories (above 40 years) .
The Chakpi Rabbit Run (5 km) has been conceptualised primarily for children up to Class 10, while also welcoming fun runners from other categories, ensuring inclusive participation.
Prizes worth over Rs 2 lakh will be awarded to podium finishers, while all participants will receive recognition and attractive incentives, underscoring the inclusive spirit of the initiative.
The event will culminate in a grand Closing Gala at 10:00 am featuring cultural programmes, jazz and pipe band displays by Assam Rifles, speeches by dignitaries, and prize distribution followed by high tea.
