Kangpokpi, March 15 2026: A formal complaint seeking the registration of an FIR against Ashang Kasar has been filed at the Kangpokpi police station.

The complaint, filed by Lungoulen Guite, general secretary of Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills, accused Ashang Kasar of disseminating misleading information during a televised discussion.

The statements made during the broadcast were "false and misleading" and have caused serious emotional distress to the families of the late Thengin Baite and Thangboimang Khongsai, whose killings recently triggered widespread outrage, said the complaint.

Guite urged the authorities to initiate "immediate and appropriate legal action" against the accused to ensure accountability.

The complaint comes amid growing anger within sections of the Kuki-Zo community following the killing of the two men earlier this week.

Several organisations have demanded justice.
