"STOP Diarrhoea Campaign" launched in Thoubal district

Thoubal, July 14 2025:
In response to the rising number of diarrhoea cases among children, the "Stop Diarrhoea Campaign"- (Diarrhoea ki Roktham, Safai aur ORS se Rakhen apna Dhyaan) was officially launched in Thoubal district today.
The campaign was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal, Hannah Kamei.
Initiated by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the campaign is scheduled to run from June 16 to July 30 nationwide, aiming to reduce diarrhoeal diseases, particularly among children.
The inaugural programme held at the DC Conference Hall was organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal.
It was attended by CMO Thoubal Dr Y Nokul, District Hospital Thoubal, Medical Superintendent Dr W Ruhinikumar, ZEO Thoubal Y Achouba, ICDS Thoubal, DPO Th Romita, DPM Thoubal, Ch Basanta and staff of the District Health Society Thoubal.
As part of the campaign, Thoubal district targets the distribution of Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) to 30,294 children of the district by setting up ORS Zinc Comer at every health centre to facilitate easy access to these essential supplies.
The campaign also includes awareness drives to the school going children on the importance of hygiene and use of oral rehydration solutions.
DC Thoubal appealed to all stakeholders, and the public to actively support the campaign to ensure its success and reduce diarrhoeal cases in the district.
